Does your toddler or preschooler have you feeling stressed, overwhelmed or frustrated?

I can help!  I support parents and children to overcome whatever challenges they are dealing with so that your child can turn to you for comfort and support and you feel competent and capable as a parent.

Toddlerhood is a time of significant growth and development that can set the stage for a young person's entire life.  Parents are the key to helping their children learn how to navigate life's challenges with resilience,  and successfully deal with difficult emotions to return to a state of happy equilibrium.  I can help you successfully weather the "Terrible Twos", "Threenagers", transition to preschool, kindergarten and beyond.  Your child can and will be happy, resilient and successful.  I can help parents from diverse backgrounds effectively co-parent their mixed heritage children, both as an early childhood specialist as well as a specialist in issues of diversity.

In Child Parent Psychotherapy, an evidence-based practice developed by Alicia Lieberman, PhD. and Patricia Van Horne, PhD. at the UCSF Child Trauma Research Program, "the primary goal is to support and strengthen the relationship between a child and his or her parent (or caregiver) in order to repair the child's sense of safety, attachment, and appropriate affect to ultimately improve the child's cognitive, behavioral, and social functioning."
